Abstract: Co-teaching offers a fresh perspective in pre-service education by providing increased experiences in a clinical setting. The co-teaching model immerses pre-service students in immediate daily operations of the classroom from the beginning of the semester. This article describes one university’s co-teaching model throughout all teacher education programs. The co-teaching pedagogies (Cook & Friend 1995) weave throughout all content coursework for elementary and secondary majors. Methods courses embed co-teaching by modeling the strategies and providing simulations to scaffold students through clinical experiences.
