Abstract: Generating reasonable example data is a non-trivial task, and generating example data that can be used for a successful educational simulation demonstration is significantly harder. This paper explores the process and presents a few guidelines for reasonable data generation when the intent is to fill a database for an educational simulation. A computer science class wrote programs to complete this generation, and they were used to generate data for a course taught by the advanced educational studies department.
