Abstract: The Elementary Education and Special Education Programs at Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development prioritize inclusive clinical preparation of our teacher candidates. This session will introduce attendees to the collaborative relationship between the Elementary and Special Education programs which prepare students to make an impact on all learners beginning on day one. Initiatives include thoughtful course sequencing, on-site practice- based coursework, a focus on diversity and inclusion, utilizing program supervisors intentionally across both programs, and a mentoring program for recent graduates.

Presider: Carol Donnelly, Worcester State University
