Greetings! It is my pleasure to welcome you to MACTE, MAECTE, COMTEC jointly hosted fall 2020 virtual conference: Address Disruption Now: Protest, Policies, Practices and Pandemic in Education.
MACTE is very grateful to AACE (Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education), for the support they are providing as conference host and for ensuring our technology needs are met for a successful virtual conference. In addition, I would like to acknowledge the hard work of the conference committee, chaired by Dr. Janet Arndt, without whom this conference would not be possible.
MACTE is fortunate to have the support of other board members who serve on its committees. The board continues to represent our member institutions on matters related to current educator preparation issues and policies through our standing committees and statewide working groups. MACTE cannot do the important work that it is charged to do without their dedication and expertise. Over the next two days, we will hear from a number of presenters who will discuss practices that prevent educators from being agents of change – as well as opportunities for innovations promoting social and racial justice – in their teaching, program delivery and the development of teachers.
