Share Paper: Developing Public University/Public School Transformative Partnerships
Tuesday, October 26 5:00-5:30 PM ROOM 2
Abstract: The response of K-12 schools to the COVID disruption was remarkable! That said, the COVID disruption demonstrated that public K-12 schools don’t have the skills/expertise to truly employ the new technologies effectively. But, public universities do have those skills/expertise! In our presentation, we will describe the hand-in-glove, transformative partnerships that two Michigan public universities – University of Michigan and Saginaw Valley State University – established with a number of K-5 public schools in Michigan. Both groups learned; both groups benefitted. Now the challenge is to scale up those partnerships.
