Abstract: COVID-19 continues to impact how teacher preparation programs support teacher candidates (TCs) during their internship experiences. Institutes of Higher Education and K-12 schools have shifted instruction in response to the global pandemic to include both synchronous and asynchronous methods through remote instruction and hybrid platforms. Even when schools provide face-to-face opportunities for K-12 students, internships for TCs remain virtual in an attempt to mitigate any potential for outbreaks. This has resulted in the need for teacher preparation programs to pivot to ensure TCs gain the knowledge and skills necessary to demonstrate mastery of educator competencies.
