Development of a Running Records App for Miscue Analysis of ESL Readers
Brief Paper
ID: 58086
Abstract: Running records is a widely used assessment for English as a Second Language (ESL) readers. This research describes the development of a novel running records app for reading teachers to administer running records, identify the ESL student’s reading behaviors, and analyze the types of cuing systems the student has used. Teachers can use this app to monitor the progress of students, diagnose reading needs in a variety of settings across grade levels, and develop follow-up lesson plans.
