Abstract: During this best practice presentation, participants will be provided with an overview of the student engagement strategies I have implemented in my synchronous and asynchronous high school courses. Demonstrations will show participants the use of virtual backgrounds in synchronous video feeds. Zoom polls and chat features will be introduced as well as how to implement polls, break out rooms, and use shared documents for synchronous group activities. Technologies used for embedding questions into asynchronous videos and presentations to increase student engagement will also be introduced.
