Abstract: I have been teaching mathematics in higher education since 1999 and teaching fully asynchronous online courses since 2017. My experience has led me to observe several challenges in translating typical face-to-face course components to an online environment, that is “the web-based environment used to host fully online and blended or hybrid courses” (Trenholm, 2013). In this ‘Birds of a Feather’ Discussion, I propose to discuss some of these challenges with other online STEM faculty.
