Abstract: Preparing future teachers to teach effectively and engaging learners at high levels involves complex tasks that sequence knowledge and awareness, practice, observation and data collection, followed by analysis and reflection. Observations of teaching can involve both qualitative (used most often) and quantitative (a lesser extent). The focus of this paper is to describe utilization of a new web-based app teacher observation tool that maximizes collection of both qualitative and quantitative factors, provides instant and detailed analysis, allows for rich feedback and sets the groundwork for meaningful coaching and reflection.
