Abstract: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences, first proposed by Howard Gardner, Ph.D, sets forth areas of expertise that learners may have a congenital possession of. Application of Gardner’s theory presents significant changes in the modern-day classroom. However, these changes have been shown to increase effectiveness and understanding of various topics by students. This literature receive examines various studies to outline Gardner’s theory, what constitutes an intelligence, how each of Gardner’s eight identified intelligences present, how to implement the theory in the classroom, and what teachers can expect by doing so.
