Abstract: This study examined the effects of using an interactive applet on students’ learning of trigonometric functions. Participants were fifty-nine college students enrolled in two sections of Precalculus. One group of students studied trigonometric functions and their graphs through using an interactive applet that provides unit circle and graphical representations simultaneously, and students in the other group received traditional instruction where both right triangle and unit circle approaches were used to define trigonometric functions and explore their algebraic and graphical properties.
