Abstract: In recent years, prolonged smartphone use by high school students has become a controversial issue. Social measures have been taken, including institutional approaches such as legislation and awareness policies as well as educational approaches such as teaching information ethics at schools. However, according to the dual-process theory, these measures require the youths' self-restraint and deep consideration; therefore, they take a long time to bear results. The Nudge, advocated by Thaler and Sunstein, brings prolonged smartphone use to the user’s attention and thereby encourages restraint.
