Abstract: Brainstorming for multimedia production in online courses often begins with grandiose ideas by instructors which usually have to be scaled down by instructional designers to realistic and cost-effective solutions based on a department's timeline for launch and budget. Conversely, it is also common for instructors to feel overwhelmed with the idea of creating video content for their courses, in which case instructional designers would provide training and support throughout the process.
