Abstract: A study aimed at improving a hybrid course of educational technology was conducted with undergraduate students in 2017 and 2018. The study is based on unobtrusive observations, interviews and an online survey. The results suggest that there is no “one-size-fits-all” mode of teaching; a good fraction of responses (31%) suggest a preference of online instructions, the majority of responses (40%) demand face-to-face assistance and a large proportion of choices (29%) suggest a demand for a blend of both. The practical advice based on the study is that the instructor’s face-to-face availability for assistance in the course on educational technology is critical for a significant number of students.
