Abstract: The main objectives of this paper are to present the development and implementation of a quality assurance methodology to improve online and blended learning strategies in Flemish adult education centers, to enforce a consistently high quality of online and blended education for adult learners Throughout an intervention study in three centers of adult education and interviews with different stakeholders within these centers, the e-learning Maturity Model (eMM) (Marshall, 2010) was contextualized and fine-tuned to fit their specific needs of Flemish adult education centers Guidelines on how to contextualize and use the eMM to self-assess the quality of e-learning or blended learning in one’s institution are presented, including elements of strengthening a quality awareness and quality commitment among different stakeholders through self-reflection, communication, and participation
