An E-Portfolio System for Teacher Promotion Courses: Cultivating Student Teachers’ Problem-Solving Abilities Through Extracurricular Studies
Abstract: In this study, an e-portfolio system for a teacher promotion course was developed based on Matsuda (2012b)’s model to promote teachers’ professional development and Matsuda (2015)’s Warp and Woof model of problem-solving Although a multiple-choice test function for the e-portfolio system has already been developed by extending the functionality of the Instructional Activities Game system (Matsuda 2005), attention was not paid to the connection of the test function to self-learning In addition, a role-playing game to assess and promote upper-level performance was not implemented On the other hand, Matsuda and Shimada (2013) developed an e-portfolio system for literature review activities in order to cultivate master’s students’ problem-solving abilities These research outcomes are integrated into the new system
