Exploring and Preparing for Green Careers

Roundtable ID: 47601
  1. Marnie O'Brien
    PC Coaches

Abstract: Join us to review a design proposal for greenSTEM Careers. Authored as a Master's Project utilizing the latest educational technologies, the greenSTEM (eLearn or Hybrid) Course connects students, educators, employers and professionals within an innovative, authentic learning environment designed specifically for Career and Technical Education users involved in teaching, learning and hiring for "green careers." The discussion would be especially relevant to STEM department chairs and other curriculum decision makers within a post-secondary community or technical college, who are interested in incorporating a basic course introducing students to 'Green' careers (i.e., energy, sustainability, environment) to add to or enhance their existing STEM courses. Attendees will have the opportunity to offer targeted feedback, engage in an in-depth discussion of launching such a course, and meet colleagues with similar interests.

Presider: Dr. Abdulaziz A Alfayez, King Saud University
