Abstract: Good instruction and wonderful new ideas, such as gamification, come in many different shapes and sizes. The challenge of educators is to find the connectivity between all of these different constructs. We believe that a sound pedagogically founded model should embody the flexibility and adaptability to move throughout the transformations in current trends within the every changing landscape of education. Through experience and an extensive review of the literature, we developed an instructional design model for eLearning, the 10 E’s of Exceptional eLearning Model. The elements of our model are intended to be infused throughout a course from the design and development phases through the delivery and evaluation phases. Our model demonstrates an instructional process, which can be applied to a variety of subject matters, teaching styles, and current trends, such as gamification, while employing research-based best practices in eInstruction.
