Abstract: This reflective paper explains the conceptualization of the Pedagogical Variation Model (PVM, Rogers 2013) together with an international perspective from Kuwait University, Faculty of Education in 2014. Reflecting on the outcomes of the findings, the paper suggests how the PVM could be adopted for a worldwide community of practice to widen access to online learning platforms as well as to increase retention rates both in Higher and Further Education. In so doing reflection-in-action and reflection-on-action are key approaches to establish sound practice. A critical assumption underlying the PVM is that e-moderators are so-called pedagogical leaders.
