Abstract: There are a significant number of children living temporarily in the United States while their mothers who are from Middle East countries complete their studies. These children will eventually return to their Middle East countries, but are ill-prepared for this. Because they are unfamiliar with the Arabic language and are unaccustomed to Arabic culture, norms, expectations, and demands, an Arabic school was established using volunteer teachers/mothers and incorporating technology and media. The current qualitative study examined the volunteer teachers’ experience and perceptions of using technology and media in teaching their children Arabic through semi-structured interviews.
