Abstract: Information presented in this paper was collected from three course offerings conducted in a graduate-level instructional technology program. In each course, students were required to complete two course assignments (a repeated measures approach) that involved developing and producing presentations using selected presentation software tools. In two of the courses, students designed and produced photo presentations to be submitted for assignment credit. The third course required students to design and produce instructional material presentations to be submitted for assignment credit. The assigned tasks between the courses varied; however, students were required to use PowerPoint® software and Prezi®, a web-based software tool, to complete the assignments. Software tool questionnaire data measuring student satisfaction, usability, and perceptions of software efficacy revealed several significant aligned items that occur between the different assignment types and the tasks completed.
