Abstract: The use of templates is a growing trend in e-learning development, and can be observed in fields such as web design and graphic design as well. Templates can improve the appearance of e-learning projects while at the same time speeding up development and reducing costs. As a result, the selection or creation of a template can have a major impact on an e-learning development project, and not all templates are appropriate for all projects. This presentation will provide an overview of the increasing prevalence of templates in e-learning, examine the components of an effective template, and provide guidelines for selecting or designing a custom template.
