Abstract: Research has shown that social emotional skill development is important to academic success, workplace success and overall life success. This revelation has led to a growing interest in instructional tools for developing SEL skills. The pandemic and the increase in online/virtual instruction and blended models have fostered educator need for online SEL products. At the same time, educators are demanding proof of effectiveness before adopting SEL instructional solutions. This study examines the effectiveness of a social emotional instructional product that includes both classroom-based and online components. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, we investigated the effectiveness of [SEL Program Name]. A quasi-experimental, pre/post, treatment/control group design compared social emotional skills growth between students instructed using QuaverSEL and students not instructed using the program. Using ANCOVA, we found an Size of .40 for the overall effect of [SEL Program Name] on social emotional skills development and Effect Sizes ranging from .26 to .49 for each of the five CASEL SEL skills measured. The qualitative study collecting teacher perceptions of the product was consistent with the quantitative findings. More than 90% of the teachers reported they will definitely or probably likely to useQuaverSEL in the future.
