Abstract: This study examines how videos are used by student teachers, as part of their training, for professional development and the self-learning process. The use of self-recorded video is one of the main activities in our new model we applied in teacher education instruction over the last four years, and the findings reveal its contribution to the students’ learning processes as they perceive them: promoting a reflective capability, personal development and strengthening professional identity, self-learning and improving teaching methods, collaboration and peer learning, and the need to cope with personal difficulties.
