Abstract: This review explores the benefits and challenges of using wearable technologies for teachers in K-12 learning environments. A systematic review of the literature was conducted using the PRISMA framework in conjunction with a thematic narrative analysis. Fifty-two peer-reviewed articles from 2003 to 2019 were examined. The benefits of using wearable technologies for K-12 teachers included the development of holistic pedagogical thinking, implementation of student-centred, cross-curricular learning, and more effective teacher professional development. Challenges of using wearable technologies for teachers included learning about new engagement methods and pedagogical models, resisting over-reliance on the technology, protecting student data, solidifying their role as a knowledgeable professional, and competing with commercial interests in education.
