Abstract: Despite their growing popularity, MOOCs still suffer from high dropout rates and non-individualized, simple theoretical tasks. To implement individualized practical assignments that keep learners involved still remains a major challenge. This paper presents a multi-entity chatbot that we developed to improve the scalability and individualization of a practical assignment in a MOOC-like online university course. The chatbot serves as a business-interview simulator to prepare students for interviews at the beginning of ERP consulting projects. Besides introducing the architecture of the chatbot and elaborating on its individualization options and limitations regarding specific learning objectives, we further present evaluation results from a test run with 38 students.
