Abstract: Assessment of student learning is critical to student and institutional success. Providing evidence of student learning is significant as policy makers and government officials are requiring additional accountability of higher education institutions. The complexity of graduate education calls for programs to create and monitor various means of assessments to paint an accurate portrait of student learning experiences. This includes participation of both full time and adjunct faculty. In many academic programs, remote adjunct faculty make up a high proportion of the department staff. This paper discusses a culture of assessment and a plan to collect data on faculty attitudes towards assessment.
