Abstract: In this study, a blended synchronous learning approach was adopted to enable adult learners to join classroom learning from homes using video conferencing. This study followed the design-based research approach and progressed through three semesters. A set of design principles and implementation strategies was gradually improved and summarized from the study. Some of the design principles and strategies included creating equivalent learning experiences, establishing teaching and social presences, and constantly monitoring the online students by asking questions.
