Abstract: This paper seeks to present an example of innovative, technologically-advanced approach to learning through the Learner-Active, Technology Infused Classroom (LATIC) format. The LATIC method pursues student achievement through three primary principles: academic rigor, student engagement, and student responsibility. To best achieve these goals, students are encouraged to set goals, manage projects, assess progress, work both independently and collaboratively, use technology seamlessly as a tool for learning, and identify their own resources for learning. Through LATIC, teachers differentiate instruction in order reach the learning and growth needs of each individual student. Despite the noted perceived benefits of a LATIC curriculum, there is a current lack of research in the literature either supporting or challenging this specific approach to teaching and learning. Therefore, this paper seeks to contribute to the literature on technology-enhanced education, global education initiatives, and pedagogical approaches intended to specifically reach learners of various skills, abilities, and interests.
