Abstract: With various interactive technologies being developed and applied in work and entertainment fields, people will have more chance to get involved in both physical and virtual spaces to accomplish their tasks at hand. As we become more familiar with people’s cognition, feelings, and behaviors, we are better able to infer the causes behind certain behaviors and develop better virtual spaces to facilitate their performance and leisure life. In the study, the researcher aims to investigate people’s emotion and perception caused by different fantasy levels. We also explore how their fantasy-prone personality (FPP) plays a role in their virtual experience. The finding indicates that both the environmental fantasy and FPP impact their virtual feelings in different ways. The results provide implications for the design of virtual worlds, which are seldom seen in other studies.
