Abstract: Learner autonomy aims to foster students’ participation and awareness not only in what they learn, but in the process of learning itself. According to Zimmerman, strategies involved in learner autonomy are diverse and of different types that include, from the adaptation of their own learning environment, to the built of self-assessment and self regulation abilities that help students evaluate their own performance in a specific activity.
