Share Paper: A Look Back at "You Better Shop Around: Permitting a Student Preview of Course Syllabi"

Abstract: Students want to know what they are getting into before registering for a class; however, faculty may not want to disclose their full course syllabi to unregistered course students. In most cases faculty would rather not publicly release their entire syllabus and schedule before the start of classes as items may change between a student’s registration window and the first day of class. The University of Central Florida explored granting both students and faculty their pre-course needs with a two-fold syllabus approach.
