Abstract: The presence of Facebook, an almost universal channel of communication, is unquestionably transforming schools. A monitoring of twelve schools has carried out in Brazil and Finland to find how Facebook is being used. Social presence supported the analysis as a theoretical reference. The most important similarity found was the cohesive way of being present in each community. Despite data collection on public side of each profile, these are certainly others specific uses of Facebook social media that schools may explore.
