Abstract: The Dialogue Design System (DDS) facilitates the process of guided dialogue and provides all students equal opportunity to participate in a learning community. The dialogue is based on a framework called the Message Construction Cross model. In this study, the DDS model was used to share information and construct knowledge in the middle of a project to boost collaborative learning in an exported educational programme. The study utilized a design science approach and suggested tailored procedures and processes for the DDS model to accommodate the different target groups and contexts. The added value of the DDS model in collaborative knowledge construction and the opportunities of educational technology were evaluated through a pilot study.
