Abstract: Public and private educational institutions, publishing houses and other media companies are developing the procedures, job descriptions and organizational structures to better produce on-line courses. Teachers remain important players. Some aspects of the role dimensions of cinematographic producers and directors may serve as blueprints for the new challenges they encounter. With a “flipped summer school” as a case study this paper discusses experiences with content design, participation design and interaction design for semi-open online courses in this perspective.
