Abstract: New technologies encourage students to speak more inside and outside of class, and this increased level of engagement with the material and each other stimulates deeper learning. Benefits also apply to the instructor experience, as their recorded voice may give them more time for class interactions, or help them reach out in personal ways to students when giving assignment feedback. This workshop will first provide attendees with practice in developing narrated video tutorials and mini-lectures for students to preview before class begins so that class time may be spent on discussion and applications rather than lectures.
